Ramon Pils

Ramon Pils read Law, History and English language and literature (with a specialisation in Australian Studies) at the University of Vienna and the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. He also holds a Certificate in Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Vienna Law School and the IoLET Level 7 Diploma in Translation (DipTransIoLET), for which he prepared at City University London. He has received, among other prizes and awards, a Dean's Commendation for High Achievement from the University of Queensland and the "Best of the Best" Award of the University of Vienna.

Upon graduation he worked as a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Legal and Constitutional History, University of Vienna. During this period he was also for some time a member of the boards of the Wiener Rechtsgeschichtliche Gesellschaft and the Association of Young Legal Historians. In the latter capacity he co-organised the 18th Annual Forum of Young Legal Historians in 2012.

As a translator and terminology manager, Ramon specialises in the fields in which he is most experienced, i.e. Law, the Humanities and Research Funding. He is a recipient of the Fred Brandeis Trophy, a prize for excellence in translation awarded by the Chartered Institute of Linguists in London.

Terminologiewörterbuch Hans Kelsen

"Die Bedeutung des Englischen nimmt auch in der rechtstheoretischen und rechtsgeschichtlichen Forschung immer mehr zu. Band 37 der Schriftenreihe des Hans Kelsen-Instituts wird diesem Umstand gerecht und zeigt eine breite Auswertung der von Kelsen verwendeten Fachtermini in Form eines deutsch-englischen Glossars. Neben den beiden Auflagen der Reinen Rechtslehre und der General Theory of Law and State als den zentralen Werken Kelsens wurden auch einige seiner weniger bekannten Schriften berücksichtigt.
